Happy turkey day!!!
Well, everybody, I just wanted to wish you a happy thanksgiving.
Chad and I are in Detroit Lakes with his family, the relatives haven't arrived yet so Chad and Bret are playing Madden football. After the meal we have to rush back to Jamestown, I have to work tonight. There is no newspaper on Thanksgiving so that means nobody in the editorial department had to work Wednesday but someone (this year me and the editor) has to work the night of the holiday.
Then Friday after work we're headed to Grygla to spend the weekend with my side of the family. Saturday we're having the meal with everybody and Sunday morning were going out in the woods to cut down a Christmas tree. That should be fun, we'll get one for my parents, one for Chad and I and one for Penny and Jose. Everybody is coming along to pick their tree out.
Then I have to work again Sunday night so we'll have to leave by 1 p.m. What a busy holiday!!
I made a pumpkin pie yesterday afternoon for my family's Thanksgiving - the Jessens said they had everything covered for this meal. Anyway, I burned it a little bit so it was a good excuse for us to sample it last night. It was good! The recipie called for crushed toasted pecans and crushed gingersnaps pushed into the crust. It's supposed to keep the crust from being soggy. Mmmm, good.
