The update

As some of you might have seen on Chad’s blog, there’s another showing of our house set for Sunday. The most exiting thing is that it’s our first, second showing, if that makes sense. These people have seen it once, really like it and want to see it again. We’re hoping it going to end in an offer.

I’m getting really tired of this living apart from Chad thing, I want my husband here, darn it! But before that’s a sweet reality, one of two or better yet, both of two, things need to happen. He needs to get a job here and/or the house needs to sell.

So, if you all could send us good vibes, ask the Great Pumpkin for some happy thoughts and/or shoot up a prayer for us, whatever method you are comfortable with, that would be much appreciated. Personally, I’ve been praying my head off. It’s kind of sad how easy it is to pray when things are hard and how easy it is to forget to pray when things are peachy keen. Anyway. Just an observation.

The job is going fine, considering how new and different it is. I’m sure it will all turn out well in the end. I’ll feel better after I meet my first big deadline next Monday.

So that’s about it. Just need a job for my hubby, a buyer for our house and a place to live (more long term) here in Grand Forks. That, and some tiramisu. All this talk of its sweet, gooey goodness is very suggestive. Mmmmm. Tiramisu.

Four jobs you have had:
*scooper in natural foods section at a Seventh-day Adventist grocery store. We scooped bulk foods like carob chips, flour, nuts and others into bags, weighed them and labeled them for resale. It was fun cause we could eat out of the bowls but not so much fun when it was flour, which it mostly was. Flour: not so tasty raw. Plus, it gets everywhere.
*Reporter at two weekly newspapers
*reporter at a daily newspaper

*staff writer at two magazines covering ethanol and biodiesel

Four movies you could watch over and over:
*The princess bride
*When Harry Met Sally
*The fifth element
*Point of no return (Except for that one icky scene with the cleaner)

Four places you've lived:
* Gatzke, Minn
* Berrien Springs, Michigan
* Minneapolis, Minn. (Bad neighborhood central)
* Jamestown, N.D.

Four TV shows you love to watch:
*Serenity (Which was cancelled, grrr. But we have the complete first season plus un-aired episodes on DVD!)
*Design on a dime
*NYPD blue
* Stargate, Stargate Atlantis and Glactica (These count as a unit because every week my husband tapes them and we watch them together. Yes, I am now a sci-fi fan. Who would have guessed?)

Four places you've been on vacation:
* New Orleans, baby!!
* Yellowstone. (Twice!)
* Cuauhtemoc, Mexico (OK, so it was a mission trip)
* Sea World, can’t remember which one

Four of your favorite foods:
* Scallops (A vegetarian meat substitute. Hey, it’s not just for vegetarians!)
*Mashed Potatoes and stove top stuffing
*Lasagna
* tiramisu

Four places you'd rather be right now:
*In Minneapolis with two of my nephews and sister Penny (I’m getting to see my other two nephews and niece and best friend Jen more now since starting to live in Grand Forks)
* On the homestead with the Nordvick clan (Including Luke, who is still in Iraq)
* On a tropical Island lounging with my wonderful husband
* Canoeing in the boundary waters, again with my husband and, of course, in a much more friendly season.

Four sites I visit daily: (only 4?!?)
* my husband’s blog
* my blog
* CG’s blog
* Heather’s blog I’m too lazy to link:

http://www.dooce.com/

Four Bloggers you are tagging:
I’m SO not good at this. Some people hate doing it. Others like it. Anyone that has the time and inclination, I’d love to read their answers.The only one I think might want to/find time to is:
* Miss Smarty Pants, coooome on down!!

My loving husband

This is the face I'm going to miss!! Here's Chad with the manicotti he made for me and his brother Bret a couple months ago. I was all ready to do all the cooking, as usual, but my loving husband told me he was going to make the Saturday afternoon meal, and he did! It was De-lish!

Plus, manicotti is the meal he made for me on our first date. Jan. 31, 2003. So it's really special.

Anyway, I'm off to Grand Forks tonight. I'll be driving back on the weekends but during the week probably won't have Internet access. So leave me lots of comforting comments, I'll need them! Chad and I have spent a few nights apart since we were married, but never for this lenght of time. I'm already hating it!! Posted by Picasa

De house

Just for old times sake I thought I'd post this pic of our house. It's a great house and I'll be sad when we no longer live here but I'll also be glad when it sells. Posted by Picasa
