I got 'er whiped into submission...kinda

Ok, so I was finally able to post pics. Not in the order I wanted and with no text. That seemed to irriate Picasa, the program we're using for "easy" posting of pics to blogger. But sometimes it just refused to post until I'd done it about three times. So who knows what the deal is.

Anyway, here are the pics of the fancy hotel. Which seems like forever ago already, but oh well. And a few of the lilacs in bloom. Enjoy!

Other than that, not much else to report. I struggled with being kinda sick all week and got some worse this weekend, but never full sick. And I'm enjoying the long weekend.

Laters!

I tried to post pics of the hotel but it wouldn't let me. So I'll just explain that the hijincks were simply me being totally overawed by my surroundings. I was able to refrain from taking photos in the awesome lobby like a tourist, but in my room! I laughed for 10 minutes straight cause I couldn't beleive I was sleeping there. And then I took photos like a crazy women.

In other news: I'm feeling really, really like I'm going to get sick. Grrr. Not again!

A shorty

The hotel was AWESOME. It was like "Redneck stays in a hotel." Hyjinks did ensue.

Weekends are too short.

Stuff you might want to read, for once

Focusing on NEW items this weekend.

The magazine I work for is sending me to a conference in Minneapolis Thursday and Friday of next week. I'm driving, but Sofitel, the hotel I'm staying at looks AWESOME!!

Check it out here if you want to

The conference is on natural gas, so it will be, understatement, a bit dry, but I find I do find these dry topics interesting regardless. I just wrote a story about ethanol plants using natural gas power so this will be an interesting followup to what I've learned so far. And, Thursday evening when I'm not learning about natural gas, I'll get to see my sister Penny and nephews Oliver and Eli and maybe even my friend Ericca. So that should be fun.

In other news, Chad's 30th birthday is Tuesday! Happy birthday baby! I won't be able to be here on his birthday, of course, but we celebrated this weekend. I made him his favorite, chocolate cake with homemade peanut butter frosting. Mmmmm!

And I'm really excited about Chad's plans to go back to school to be a peace officer. It's something he thought about right after high school but didn't pursue. Like the chief of police here in Jamestown said to me when I talked to him about it, it sounds like an itch he needs to scratch and if he doesn't, he could regret it. Chad seems happier even just preparing for this, so I'm really happy for him.

Other than that, not much. Chad and I are getting REAL tired of this (oops, the old song again) and are praying the house sells soon.
